Elegant Wedding Cake

For this wedding cake, I used 7 cake mixes and round pans that were 6", 10" and 14".

Bake and cool according to directions.

I prepared the cardboard by cutting the sizes I needed and then covering them with the Wilton silver foil.
I separated layers with dowels that I cut to fit.

The bride had the black ribbon and silver 'ribbon' ...it wasn't exactly ribbon but it was sold by the yard and VERY pretty. She also had the letter 'W' for me to use and she provided the flowers as well.

I used buttercreme between layers and covered the cake in buttercreme.....I smoothed with a Viva towel.

It was so hot out that even with the air on in the car, the icing FELL OFF the sides of the cake! I almost panicked!
But I took extra icing and it was repaired. Praise the Lord!

I stacked the cakes after arriving at the reception hall.
After they were stacked, then added the ribbon to each layer.
Next was adding the 'W' and then last were the flowers.

Thank you Dee for wanting such a simple but very elegant design!!!!!!! 8)
