Wedding Cake Boxed for Guests

This wedding cake was made for my daughter's small intimate wedding where each guest could take home a boxed heart shaped mud cake.

There are four tiers of 54 boxes containing a heart shaped cake cut from a slab mud cake with a 2" heart cutter covered with chocolate ganache and decorated with a small open rose and two leaves hand made from modeling paste assembeled onto a large chocolate button and set on the cake with a dab of melted chocolate.

There are 2.75" cake pillars in four boxes of each tier to keep the tiers from collapsing the boxes and squashing the small cakes. Each tier of boxes is held together with a tightly wrapped ribbon around each layer of boxes and easily undone for distribution to the guests by the flower girls.

The top tier is a small 4" square fruit cake covered with white Plastic icing and decorated with hand-molded flowers of roses,leaves, carnations and forget-me-nots arranged around a bride and groom figure.

This top tier cake was there for the couple to actually cut into for the cutting of the cake.

Each tier was finished off with the same hand molded flowers and ribbon arranged into a spray and placed on alternative corners.

A small spray of the same flowers was attached to the cutting knife finished off with a long flowing ribbon and placed in front of the cake.
